In My Mailbox (64)

Thanks to Kristi at The Story Siren for hosting In My Mailbox every week.

I wasn't joking earlier when I tweeted that I was going to the bookstore to celebrate the defeat of DADT. I stopped by the used bookstore, which I hadn't done in a while, and walked out with seven books (I had more, but restrained myself and put a couple back). Two of them were in the clearance section, so they were only a dollar each. Them I went across the street to Books-A-Million because I hadn't been there in about a year (Nothing is ever in alphabetical order there and it bothers me... Plus it's far away). I found three hardcovers for six dollars each, and couldn't say no (I also forced myself to put some back here). I figured my grandma would rather I spent my Christmas money on something I wanted than my bills (my paycheck can pay those). Of course, it wasn't until I got home that I realized Daemons Are Forever is book two of a series, so hopefully book one will be here for next weeks IMM. And my copy of Last Sacrifice is FINALLY here. It only took like eight days to get here. Anyway, I'm probably boring everyone, so here's this week's haul:

  3. Jessica, I didn't realize Tempest Legacy was out early until I got home and saw the release date online. I feel kinda bad buying it so early because I know it doesn't factor into the first week's numbers. But I saw it out at multiple stores this weekend, so it looks like everyone around here got it early.

Dazzling Mage, I really enjoyed Wondrous Strange, so I hope Darklight and Tempestuous is great too.

  4. Great books you got there! And book stores can be very dangerous! ;D I saw you got Nicole's next book already. That's not to be out until January. Cool to hear you got it. I'll have to scope out my book stores. :)

Have a great week and enjoy all your books. If you would like to stop by I have Monday's Beginnings up...

  5. Melissa, on another trip to the bookstore, I found a lot of January releases for Orbit out already. They must have shipped early and be soft releases. I read a post on Richelle Mead's blog about a year ago where she explains the difference between soft and hard releases. Basically, soft releases can go out whenever the store receives them but hard releases can't go out a minute too soon (think Harry Potter).

  6. That is really interesting to learn. Thank you. I always thought on that as some books are a huge thing about releasing on that specific day and others seem to just appear on the shelves around that date. :) Those are nice at the holiday season. ;D I'll have to let husband know for his shopping trip. ;D
