In My Mailbox (101)

Thanks to Kristi at The Story Siren for hosting In My Mailbox every week.

I rewarded myself this week with two books because I kept my spending down (and my paycheck was a little more than expected). I had to venture further than my local B&N, because that one is a small on in our tiny mall, but we also got cupcakes so it worked out. I also got a completely unsolicited ARC this week from a publicist I've worked with before. I have not included it because it is in no way paranormal, and therefore not my cup of tea. I think I'm gonna ask around at work to see if anyone wants to read it.

  4. I was disappointed by "Roil." It seemed like it would be really good, but suffered from inconsistent description, and gave so little background as to the motivations of certain characters that I really wondered at times if I'd gotten my hands on the second book of a series or had missed some essential prequel that would have explained everything. I can't say I'd recommend it, but since it takes all kinds, I do at least hope you enjoy it.

  5. Bobliotropic, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Roil too much. I've read the author's author series and enjoy it, so hopefully his writing style hasn't changes too much.
